Yesterday the Dandi ladies all celebrated Mindi's Birthday! We sampled two different types of cake, Chocolate Mud and Orange and Almond flourless, as well as delicious cupcakes from My Little Cupcake (courtesy of a friend in Cairns - how cute!).

We also sat down to the traditional Dandi birthday lunch of yummy sushi and present unwrapping....

Dandi in the Ski Yoghurt Ad!

Have you seen the new Ski Yoghurt ad on TV? We couldn't help but notice that a Dandi small bamboo bowl has been used! Click here to view the full ad on their Website - we just can't get enough! x

Once Upon : Manny's Exhibition : Leeloo

Here are some pictures from the very cool exhibition, Once Upon, which Manny was invited to be a part of. The exhibition was put on by the online community Leeloo, who support emerging designers and artists.

Once Upon featured the work of 40 Artists who were each given a fairytale to interprete in their style. Manny was given Rapunzel and the above image is her interpretation of this wonderful story.

Manny standing next to her precious illustration, we are so proud!

It was great to see how all the artists conveyed their particular tale, and for us to feel a bit childlike again and reminisce some forgotton stories. Manny's work is on the bottom row, second from the right.

The crowd at the opening night. It was a really good turn out, it got very hot it there!

The Dandi chicks, we are uber avant garde!

Cards by La Rara

As we mentioned last week, the Dandi ladies visited Magnolia Square and did a spot of shopping. One of our favourites was the La Rara stand. The Dandi girls were already familiar with La Rara (aka Lara Raymond) and couldn't help but buy up lots of her gorgeous handmade cards. You can pick up your own copies at her etsy store - she offers FREE postage!

Such a cute stand (and stand holder!) with so many yummy things to buy!
All the Dandi girls couldn't walk past this gorgeous tea cup card. Multiple copies were purchased

Caroline was particularly enamored with this design, its so sweet, she had to buy two copies so she could keep one and give one away!

Magnolia Square - This Weekend in Sydney

Last night the Dandi girls (sans Manny who had her exciting exhibition opening which will be featured next week) went Christmas (and personal) shopping at the fabulous Magnolia Square market at Randwick Racecourse. We saw lots of yummy things and made quite a few purchases which we will show you over the next week. The first feature is from a cute art print brand call Printspace.

Printspace are a Melbourne based Husband and Wife team who also run a graphic design firm. Mara and Nicholas collaborate on the Printspace artworks and we love the result.

Caroline purchased the print above from the Printspace stand - it really is too cute!

The above image was a postcard freebie from their stand - good enough to frame don't you think? Thanks Printspace for coming up to Sydney and enlightening us with your artworks!

Magnolia Square is on from now until Saturday 21 November. Don't worry if you can't make it though as we will post some goodies all next week and you can check out more stalls on the Magnolia Square website

PAD Australia

Very often in life, a change is as good as a holiday, and with this in mind Caroline and Mindi decided to spice up their living spaces with some yummy new cushions from Pad.

We first spotted Pad over a year ago and have been loving their gear ever since. The current collection features an awesome range of colours including fresh green, sapphire and ash grey and the quality of fabric is the very best - durable and snuggly at the same time.

Its fair to say we went a little crazy and our living rooms could now double as Pad showrooms, but the end result breathes new life and inspiration into our worlds and that is what is most important, right?

You can find Pad cushions at the following stores in Sydney

Magnolia Home and Gift, Shop 6-9/ 19 Bungan St Mona Vale NSW 2103
Essentials or Home, 112 Cronulla St, Cronulla NSW 2230
or at Oz Design Stores nationally

Wedding Details: Professional Shots

We've mentioned before about all the effort and attention to detail that Leezar put in to making her wedding day that little bit more personal and unique. To round up all the romantic posts about Leezar's big day here are some of the professional shots taken on the day of all the handmade details which Leezar came up with and made herself (with the help of her 6 bridesmaids and husband!). The order of service (above) featured the apple tree motif which was part of the theme of the wedding, along with the phrase 'The Apple of My Eye'.

The above image is of a place setting, each guest received a CD of Corey and Leezar's favourite songs and a Dandi Fabric Origmai Treasure box filled with heart shaped chocolates. We like how the photographer chose to shoot 'Nan's' spot! Cute!

The pin board which Leezar put together to match in with the chocolate and red theme of the wedding. Guests left their messages on the board for Leezar and Corey to keep, the cards were kept in the cute apple container.

Tall vases of apples for the centre pieces on each table, looks like someone had a taste sample of this one!

And finally here we all are dolled up. Caroline, Leezar, Mindi and Manuela
Say cheese!

Leezar and Corey's Wedding

The lovely Leezar has been back in the Dandi studio for almost two weeks now and she is every bit the blushing bride. Today we are going to share with you are few of her professional photographs - we think she looks absolutely stunning, don't you? Corey is a lucky man!

Leezar and Corey's wedding had a chocolate and red theme (their favourite colours, respectively). The six bridesmaids wore chocolate brown baby doll lacy dresses and carried gorgeous red frilly parasol's from Boston Umbrella to ward off the Spring showers.

Leezar walked down the 'aisle' (last minute showers moved the wedding undercover) with her dad, who wore an electric blue tie to match her electric blue Manolo Blahniks. She carried a beautiful bouquet of white tulips and red berries, her favourite flowers. Her brother Kye played an amazing original piece of music with singer Sarah Reeve.

The happy couple just after the ceremony.

Pumpkin Carving

Halloween seems to become bigger and bigger each year in Australia. This year, with the day falling on a Saturday, it seemed that lots of people, young and old, were embracing the festivities and dressing up for trick or treating.
Out of curiosity, Mindi decided to carve a pumpkin for the first time. It turned out to be a bit of fun, and the flesh that was scooped out was used to make some delicious, very Australian, pumpkin scones - you can get the recipe from Gourmet Traveller here
