Plum Time

With all the fruit literally raining upon Mike & Vivienne's property, Caroline felt the need to get into the kitchen and make use of it. Having been given the wonderful old cookbook, The Greta Anna Recipes, the recipe for Plum Cake was the perfect solution for the abundance of plump plums lying around. Recipe and images below, bon appetit!

High Summer Harvest

Caroline is lucky to be able to spend weekends away at the Megalong Valley in NSW with Mike and Vivienne, her in-laws, who have a beautiful home there. Vivienne has a gorgeous mini orchard right outside her kitchen window which is beautiful to look over, particularly at the moment as all the trees are heavy with fruit. Vivienne makes delicious jams and stewed fruit from these wonderful trees so we thought we would share how delightful they look in the summer rain.

Just Rosy

Here are some photos taken last November (I know, long delay!) in Wellington, New Zealand at the annual Rose show in the Wellington botanic gardens. Mindi was visiting her friend and the trip was fatefully timed on the same weekend as the show. We will be posting more photos from the trip in the weeks to come - Enjoy!

Climbing roses at the entrance

Vibrant, passionate red bloomsThis particular rose type was called 'Remember Me' , I'm sure we will!

The meaning of yellow roses is joy and happiness, and for good reason! Check out more rose colour meanings here at Florepedia

To finish, some gorgeous blushing pink roses with wonderful layers of petals.

Summer Foliage

At dandi we are always on the lookout for inspiration, with pencil and paper in one hand and our cameras in the other. You never know when something beautiful is going to cross your path. Look at these gorgeous green leaves from Caroline's recent trip to the Botanic Gardens in Sydney.

We love the brilliance of the foliage and the textural quality of the photos. Definitely some inspiration here for our up coming collections. Stay tuned for our next post on pretty blooms from New Zealand.
